The name of Arsenal starlet Karl Hein has featured prominently across social media this evening, on the back of an altogether impressive showing for his country.
Wales frustrated
Hein’s Estonia were back in action a short time ago.
Thomas Haberli’s men made the trip to the Cardiff City Stadium, for the nation’s latest 2022 World Cup qualifier.
The Sinisärgid headed into proceedings eyeing a rare positive result, having managed to pick up only a solitary point from an available nine before this evening’s action.
And, when all was said and done on Wednesday, secure just a 2nd points haul of their qualification campaign is precisely what Estonia managed.
A frustrating 90 minutes for heavy favourites Wales ultimately saw the Dragons held at bay by their minnow opponents, en route to a 0-0 stalemate in Cardiff.

Not the result we wanted but we must dust ourselves off and go again.

‘Outstanding’
As outlined above, the woes of the hosts this evening were brought about in no small part by an up and coming talent currently on the books of Premier League giants Arsenal.
The man in question? Karl Hein.
19-year-old shot-stopper Hein is held in high regard in North London, since having made the move to the English capital from his home country back in the summer of 2019.
The youngster is already a regular at U23 level with the Gunners, and, despite his tender years, managed his 9th international appearance this evening.
And Hein’s Man of the Match performance versus Wales, which featured top-class saves from the likes of Gareth Bale and Tyler Roberts, has since not gone at all unrecognised online, with just some of the social media praise for the Arsenal man showcased below:
Turning into a frustrating night for Wales against Estonia. Arsenal’s teenage goalkeeper Karl Hein has made two excellent saves to deny Bale and Roberts in the second half. Pressure building

Why isn’t Karl hein (arsenal player) given more respect? 18 years of age playing for his country saving Estonia here vs Wales

Hein was very solid for Estonia vs Wales, few key saves and help from the posts. @jeorgebird

Arsenal’s rookie keeper Karl Hein, 19, the man of the match. His display got Estonia a point.

Find myself torn between being reasonable about an impressive goalkeeping performance from 19-year-old Karl Hein… and thinking he’s already miles better than Bernd Leno and simply MUST start against Norwich on Saturday
