ommy Jessop broke hearts with his amazing pose celebrating Line of Duty’s best-returning drama win at this year’s National Television Awards.
The BBC cop drama picked up the first award it was nominated for beating out The Crown and Unforgotten.
Adrian Dunbar and Vicky McClure, both up for lead actor gongs, weren’t present at the ceremony due to Covid-restrictions on sets they were filming on.
But Tommy Jessop stole the show anyway striking a fantastic pose as he lapped up the appreciation in front of his adoring crowd.

Bear Grylls handed over the best new drama award to It’s A Sin which beat out Des, Normal People and Bridgerton.
Olly Alexander said: “This show is so brilliant everyone from the cast and crew behind the scenes who put their all into it. Its the hugest privilege of my life to be part of it.”

Paul Hollywood said in a live stream from the judge’s tent: “Last year was particularly difficult but we had to do the show to put a smile on your faces.”
Gogglebox surprisingly beat out Caroline Flack: Her Life And Death, a documentary about the late Love Island presenter, for the factual gong.
The cast movingly dedicated the award to everyone lost in the pandemic particularly “the nation’s favourite Grandmother” June who recently passed away in May.
Ricky Gervais accepted the best comedy award for Netflix’s After Life coming ahead of Friday Night Dinner and Sex Education.
The comedian said he would make his speech quick as the ceremony was already “interminable” before joking he only made the show for the money.
Mollie Gallagher won best serial drama performance for her portrayal as goth Nina in Coronation Street, she said the win had left her “speechless”.
She said her role had drawn attention to hate crime attacks after her character was hospitalised in the show and dedicated the award to anyone who has ever felt “left out”.
Hrvy got a standing ovation as he opened the show with his single Runaway With It showing off some of the steps he picked up on Strictly Come Dancing.
Comedian Joel Dommett, who is hosting the National Television Awards, admitted he was terrified of Ricky Gervais and Jonathan Ross sat in the audience watching his opening monologue and joked about his mother running off with the cast of Love Island.

Co-host Ant McPartlin said: “Thank you. It was a real change to do it in Wales last year but it was absolutely brilliant. We loved it, we loved doing it there and we can’t wait to do it again this year.”

Hrvy said ahead of performing his opening song: “I’m very excited. It’s a big deal. This is the NTAs. I have no idea how I landed this gig but I did. It’s going to be great. It’s a good hype song to open the show with and I can’t wait.”
Comedian Joel Dommett, said he was grateful people would be getting back together after the pandemic. He said: “It’s basically just celebrating the fact that everyone is here together and I think hopefully it is just really fun and I am hopefully going to make a few people smile. If not, I have made myself smile and that is the main thing.”
Recalling being offered the job, he added: “Honestly it is a dream come true. It really is. And hopefully it will remain a dream and not a nightmare.”
This year Willoughby is nominated for the best presenter prize, in the same category as Piers Morgan and Ant and Dec, as well as Alison Hammond and Bradley Walsh.
Geordie duo Ant and Dec have won best TV presenter for 19 years in a row but Morgan has set his sights on dethroning them.
Morgan was nominated following a turbulent first half of 2021, which saw him depart Good Morning Britain over incendiary comments about the Duchess of Sussex.
BBC One cop drama Line of Duty leads the nominations with four nods – for returning drama and its three main stars of AC-12.
Adrian Dunbar (Ted Hastings), Martin Compston (Steve Arnott) and Vicky McClure (Kate Fleming) are all in the running, alongside Olly Alexander for Aids crisis series It’s A Sin and David Tennant for Des, a drama about serial killer Dennis Nilsen.
