Melbourne Woolworths shopper is stunned by unexpected gift in her online grocery order

A Woolworths shopper was stunned to find an unexpected gift in her online delivery order – and she’s not alone.

The woman, who lives in Melbourne, took to the supermarket’s Facebook page to thank staff after discovering a bunch of flowers and a box of chocolates while unpacking her groceries.

She posted a photo of the present and said: ‘Oh my god this is the cutest thing ever.’

‘Please pass on our thanks to the Woolies Thrift Park team!! They are seriously the best.’ 

A handwritten note attached to the chocolates revealed the reason for the touching gift.

‘Congratulations on your 100th order!’ it said.

‘Thank you so much for continually choosing us to be your personal shoppers! Have a great night and stay safe!’

A Woolworths representative responded to the shopper’s post, thanking her for her words of support. 

‘We’re glad to see that our Thrift Park Team made your day with a little surprise for being the 100th order,’ they wrote.

‘We shared this with the Store Management Team and we’re sure the team would be happy to hear about this. We hope you have a lovely weekend.’

And it seems she is not the only loyal customer to receive a token of gratitude from the retail giant.

Another woman shared a photo of a block of Cadbury chocolate she said she had received with the first order she ever placed online.

‘Woolworths – this was an exceptional bit of customer service,’ she wrote.

‘A really nice surprise when it had been a tough week and a bit of chocolate went a long way to making my morning! Thank you personal shopper!’

The kind gestures are part of Woolworths’ Good Acts program, which encourages team members to look for opportunities to help brighten a shopper’s day, according to news.com.au.
